Photography has always been my silent, solo nirvana.
I remember being about 9 years old and first seeing Paris Texas, a classic American art-house film set in the south of the US. I don’t remember much from that time in my life but I do remember the feeling of being completely mesmerised by the desolate landscapes and hauntingly beautiful music that accompanied every frame. Around this time I picked up my Mum’s Pentax Asahi and began to burn through the family’s ration of film. No one complained, or at least if they did I didn’t notice. The camera seemed to muffle all surrounding noise and distraction. It still does.
I’m still quite obsessed with the idea of craft and the power of photography. Gallery Dixon is the manifestation of two decades spent wandering around the globe photographing the places that strike me the most. I’ve curated only my favourites and made them available in limited editions of 25.
Gallery Dixon works directly with the finest print makers and framers in Australia to ensure museum-grade quality throughout all aspects of the production process.
We’ve also teamed up with Carbon Neutral, an organisation that specialises in biodiverse reforestation plantings and carbon sinks that rehabilitate landscapes across Australia. Every purchase made on this site contributes directly to these projects. More specifically – we plant 5 trees with every purchase, because I believe that all businesses of the future have an inherent responsibility to become the change the world needs. And I reckon planting more trees is a great place to start.
